Binds to the sterol regulatory element 1 (SRE-1) (5′-ATCACCCCAC-3′). Has dual sequence specificity binding to both an E-box motif (5′-ATCACGTGA-3′) and to SRE-1 (5′-ATCACCCCAC-3′).
