Phospho-Antibodies

Phospho-antibodies detect specifically phosphorylated target-proteins. Non-phosphorylated variations are not recognized. The reversible phosphorylation of proteins is a significant regulatory processes in cells. Transfer of phophate groups to amino acid residues via protein kinases either activates or deactivates the target-protein. Thus, the level of protein activity, such as triggering of a signaling cascade, can be determined with phospho-specific antibodies.
